Scissor Lift Rental FAQs

What's the difference between a slab scissor and a rough terrain scissor?
Slab (electric) scissor lifts are designed for indoor use on smooth, level floors. They're quiet, have zero emissions, and feature non-marking tires. Rough terrain scissor lifts are designed for outdoor use with 4-wheel drive, higher ground clearance, and foam-filled tires to handle gravel, dirt, and uneven ground.
What platform height do I need?
Platform height is how high the platform itself goes — add your own height (typically 6 ft) to determine your working height. A 19 ft platform gives you a 25 ft working height. For standard ceiling work (12-15 ft), a 19 ft lift works. For warehouses or commercial exteriors, you'll likely need 26-40 ft. Call us to discuss your specific application.
Do I need a license to operate a scissor lift?
OSHA requires operators to be trained on the specific type of lift they'll use. Many companies have internal training programs. If you need training resources, ask us — we can point you to OSHA-compliant training options.
Will the scissor lift fit through my door?
Most electric slab scissors are designed to fit through standard commercial doors. Our 19 ft models are typically around 32 inches wide. Measure your doorways and let us know — we'll confirm the lift will fit before delivery.
Can I use an electric scissor lift outdoors?
Electric scissors can be used outdoors on flat, hard surfaces (concrete, asphalt) in good weather conditions. They're not designed for slopes, soft ground, or rough terrain. For outdoor job sites with uneven ground, rent a rough terrain model.
What's the rental minimum?
Minimum rental is 4 hours (half-day). Daily, weekly, and monthly rates offer significant savings for longer projects.
